Simone Rapp was born and raised in Gerra Piano in Ticino in 1992.
After graduating from the Liceo Locarno, he moved to German-speaking Switzerland to realise his dream of becoming a professional footballer.
This desire accompanied him ever since he started playing at the age of 6 in the regional football club AS Riarena. Later, he became also a player for the Ticino regional squad.
He signed his first professional contract with FC Locarno, and many more followed. Among others, FC Basel, FC Wohlen, FC Thun, Lausanne Sport, FCSG and in Romania with OSK Sepsi. He was also allowed to play for the Swiss U19, U20 and U21 national teams in various international matches.
Simone is currently playing for FC Vaduz in the Challenge League in the 2021/22 season.
"I got to know the FOOTBALL IS MORE foundation in the summer of 2021 when we trained with FC Vaduz during one of their Special Adventure Camps in Schaan together with players with disabilities. After this training we spent some amazing moments together.
I was immediately fascinated by the passion and energy that the boys and girls brought and really appreciated playing with them on the football pitch.
Football is a sport for everyone and I believe that FIM's work conveys this valuable message in the best possible way."
